ORDINANCE 09-16

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 2009 CAPITAL BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING AN ADDITIONAL $65,000 FOR A STAGE II SNOWBLOWER.

WHEREAS, A stage II snowblower was one of the pieces of equipment the City promised to acquire if annexation of additional territory was approved; and

WHEREAS, A stage II snowblower will provide much more efficient and effective snow clearing and removal; and

WHEREAS, Acquisition of a stage II snowblower has been delayed for the past seven years due to budget constraints; and

WHEREAS, The approved FY 2009 Capital Budget contains $60,000 to purchase the snowblower; and

WHEREAS, A significant clerical mistake was made when the capital request was presented to the Council and the actual cost of this piece of equipment is $125,000 and not $60,000; and

WHEREAS, The Administration recommends that this piece of equipment be purchased this year and if the Council agrees, an additional $65,000 will need to be appropriated.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. The Homer City Council hereby amends the FY 2009 Capital Budget by appropriating an additional $65,000 (New total $125,000) for acquisition of a new stage II snowblower as follows:

Section 2. This is a budget amendment ordinance, is temporary in nature, and shall not be codified.
