AN ORDINANCE OF THE
WHEREAS, The Homer Police Department is currently in position to receive a grant of $11,778.00 through the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Formula Program administered by the U.S. Department of Justice, part of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA / Stimulus Funding) of 2009; and
WHEREAS, The two grant purpose areas that are most appropriate for the Homer Police Department are the Law Enforcement Programs and Technology Improvement Programs; and
WHEREAS, There is a need for active shooter training to enhance the capabilities of the Homer Police.
Section 1. That the City of Homer formally accepts the Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the Amount of $11,778.00 for active shooter training and provides a local match of $5,000.00 as follows:

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
