ORDINANCE 09-60

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 2009 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $85,000.00 FOR CLEAN-UP OF THE FUEL SPILL AT THE RAW WATER PUMP STATION.

WHEREAS, A diesel fuel spill occurred outside the raw water pump station near the Bridge Creek Reservoir earlier this year; and

WHEREAS, The spill was reported to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, who assessed the spill and provided a recommendation for the clean-up; and

WHEREAS, Local contractors were employed to remove contaminated soils and transport them to a disposal site, effectively cleaning up the fuel spill.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. The Homer City Council hereby amends the FY 2009 Operating Budget by appropriating $85,000.00 for clean-up of the fuel spill at the raw water pump station as follows:

Section 3. This is a budget amendment ordinance, is temporary in nature, and shall not be codified.
