EMERGENCY ORDINANCE 09-63
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $27,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND RESERVES TO MAKE EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE OCEAN DRIVE LOOP SEAWALL.
WHEREAS, The seawall has experienced erosion caused by wave, storm, and tidal action during a recent winter storm; and
WHEREAS, The wall has been seriously undercut and presents a public health and safety issue and if not addressed quickly, may result in total failure of the wall; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to repair the wall as quickly as possible to ensure public safety, avoid a much larger expense later on, and complete construction before another winter storm created further more extensive damage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF HOMER:
Section 1. The Homer City Council appropriates $27,000 from the General Fund Reserve for emergency repairs to the Ocean Drive Loop Seawall as follows:
