AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 2010 OPERATING
BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $4,500 FROM THE PORT AND HARBOR RESERVE ACCOUNT FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING AN EVALUATION AND INSPECTION OF THE ICE PLANT ON THE FISH
DOCK.
WHEREAS, The
ice plant on the Fish Dock is 25 years old; and
WHEREAS, The plant is vital to
supporting the commercial fishing industry in Homer and regular maintenance and
inspection is very important in order to keep this facility operational
and working efficiently; and
WHEREAS, It would be beneficial to
have the plant inspected by a qualified inspector to be sure it is operating at
peak efficiency and to obtain recommendations regarding maintenance, repair, replacement,
and potential upgrades; and
WHEREAS, This
work would nicely complement the energy efficiency evaluation the City will
also be conducting on the plant within the next year; and
WHEREAS, The Port and Harbor
Director recently described the proposed scope of work and cost to the Port and
Harbor Advisory Commission and received its endorsement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER
ORDAINS:
Section 1.
The Homer City Council hereby amends the FY 2010 Operating Budget by
appropriating $4,500 from the Port and Harbor Reserve Account for an ice plant
inspection and evaluation as follows:
