ORDINANCE 10-36
AN ORDINANCE
OF THE HOMER
WHEREAS,
The 2008 City of Homer Comprehensive Plan , Chapter 4 Land Use, Goal 1 states
in part, “Guide Homer’s growth with a focus on increasing the supply and
diversity of housing, protect community character, encourage infilling…” ; and
WHEREAS, A stated implementation strategy for this goal is “Encourage residential uses, while recognizing the primacy of commercial and/or industrial uses”; and
WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan also specifically calls for the creation of two new mixed use zoning districts in areas that are currently zoned General Commercial One, that would allow housing; and
WHEREAS, It is undesirable to prevent residential infill between now and the time when those new districts will be created.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE
Section 1. Homer City Code 21.24.020 Permitted Uses and Structures is hereby amended to include the new sections:
ll. Single-family
dwelling, excluding mobile home
mm. Duplex dwelling, excluding mobile home
Section 2. This Ordinance is of a permanent and general character and shall be included in the City Code.
