RESOLUTION 09-34

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE PUBLIC LIBRARY EXTERIOR SIGN TO BRAD HUGHES OF THE FIRM OF COMPASS OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals was advertised in the Homer Tribune on October 8, 2008, the Homer News on October 16, 2008, the Anchorage Daily News on October 12, 2008 and the Peninsula Clarion on October 19, 2008, posted on the Clerk’s home page, and mailed to two plans rooms within the State of Alaska; and

WHEREAS, Proposals were due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2009 and seven proposals were received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, The Library Sign Task Force reviewed the submissions and selected the proposal by Brad Hughes in a bid amount of $10,000 to be the most responsive; and

WHEREAS, On March 4, 2009 the Homer Advisory Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the proposed sign and received no public participation; and

WHEREAS, By unanimous consent the Homer Advisory Planning Commission found the exterior sign as proposed by Brad Hughes to be compliant to Homer City Code in its dimensions and structure; and

            WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Brad Hughes of Compass, of Homer, Alaska, from the City of Homer.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the contract for the Homer Public Library Exterior Sign to Brad Hughes of the firm of Compass, of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $10,000.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

           

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 27th day of March, 2009.
