A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOMER, ALASKA AMENDING COUNCIL'S OPERATING MANUAL, COUNCIL PACKET AND AGENDA DEADLINES.

WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council request to receive the packets earlier; and

WHEREAS, tentative agenda deadlines and packet deadlines need to be clarified.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the Council's Operating Manual is hereby amended regarding Council packet and agenda deadlines:

INTRODUCTION amendments:

2. Agenda and Packet Materials - Are available usually by Thursday Wednesday evening, preceding the Regular Council Meeting. Twenty-four hours is required before a Special Meeting for packet material or agenda to be in the hands of Council. In some instances, Special Meeting Agendas will be delivered. You are encouraged to study your packet in advance of the meeting.

5. Agenda Items - The formal agenda closes at 5:00 p.m. 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Council packet materials must be received by 11:00 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to the Council meeting. Agenda requests are submitted through the City Manager or the City Clerk. Staff support is available when requested. Pursuant to Council action on CY96 Budget, tentative agendas are no longer published in a newspaper of general circulation within the City of Homer. Tentative agendas are posted at City Hall, at the Public Library and at the Port/Harbor; and are distributed to the City's Informational Kiosks and published on the home page. Deadline for tentative agenda items is the Thursday prior to the packet deadline.

The agenda/packet closes at noon, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday before the Council meeting. HCC requires unanimous consent of the Council to add (or remove) business items from the agenda.

Regular City Council Meetings

1. Agenda/packet closes at noon, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday preceding the meeting. Allowances will be made for holidays. Tentative agendas are posted at City Hall, at the Public Library and at the Port/Harbor; and are distributed to the City's Informational Kiosks and published on the home page. Deadline for tentative agenda items is the Thursday prior to the packet deadline.

2. The City Manager, Mayor (when available) and City Clerk review the agenda on Thursday Wednesday, preceding the meeting.

3. Informational packets are available for pick up usually on Thursdays Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. but no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the regular meeting. Packets will be placed in the Council's mail boxes.
