A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO OBTAIN PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES ON THE OCEAN DRIVE LOOP BLUFF EROSION, POSTPONING THE OBJECTION PERIOD AND CONFIRMING THAT ANOTHER PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD ONCE ENGINEERING IS COMPLETED.
WHEREAS, the Ocean Drive Bluff Property Owners petitioned the City of Homer requesting bluff erosion control and this was approved via Resolution 00-89(A) on September 25, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was rescheduled via Resolution 00-102 from November 13, 2000 to November 27, 2000; and
WHEREAS, concern has been expressed by property owners and administration that the project cost estimates are too exorbitant at $937.20 per front foot and other options and funding need to be explored; and
WHEREAS, property owners suggested that professional engineering services, regarding the bluff erosion, would provide other options and a more economical project estimate with the administration concurring.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council authorizes the City Manager to obtain professional engineering services on the Ocean Drive Loop Bluff Erosion, postpones the objection period and confirms that another public hearing will be held once engineering is completed.
