A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE WATER TREATMENT PLANT CHEMICALS AS DESCRIBED IN PURCHASE ORDER 50629, FROM VAN WATERS AND ROGERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,190.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer's 2000 budget authorized certain expenditures by the Public Works Department; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase chemicals for the Water Treatment Plant;

WHEREAS, Public Works has solicited competitive bids for this purchase; and

WHEREAS, one bid was received from Van Waters and Rogers in the amount of $8,190 and this will purchase about one year's worth; and

WHEREAS, purchases in excess of $5,000.00 must be approved by Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase the chemicals for the Water Treatment Plant described in Purchase Order Number 50629, from Van Waters and Rogers in the amount of $8,190.00; and

Section 2. That payment is to be made from Account 201.141, [ Chemical Inventory] in the amount of $8,190.00.

Section 3. This Resolution takes effect upon passage.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 14th day of February, 2000.
