CITY OF HOMER City Manager

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA NAMING THE LOWER BALL FIELD AT KAREN HORNADAY HILLSIDE PARK, AS "NEWBERRY FIELD".

WHEREAS, Homer Little League Association would like to honor Russ Newberry for his years of service to Homer Little League as one of the founders almost twenty years ago, and for donating his time as a manager, coach, adviser and umpire; and

WHEREAS, Russ Newberry's presence on the field was always a symbol of the enduring nature of our national past time and gave the Little League Program a sense of history and continuity; and

WHEREAS, Homer Little League would like to name the lower ballfield "Newberry Field" in honor of Russ Newberry's volunteer contributions to the Little League Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby names the lower ballfield at Karen Hornaday Hillside Park as "Newberry Field".

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska this 8th day of May, 2000.
