A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING RECEIPT OF FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT, JACK GIST RECREATIONAL PARK, THROUGH THE STATE LIAISON OFFICER AS PROVIDED BY THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND.

WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities; and.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Homer considers it in the best public interest to develop Jack Gist Recreational Park.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska authorizes receipt of funding assistance for an outdoor recreation project, Jack Gist Recreational Park, through the State Liaison Officer as provided by the Land and Water Conservation Fund; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska the following:

1. That any Land Water Conservation Fund assistance received will be used in the development of Jack Gist Recreational Park in the City of Homer, Alaska;

2. That the City's share for the project will be derived from volunteer labor, materials donations and in kind contributions;

3. That any property acquired or developed with financial aid through the State Liaison Officer be placed in use as an outdoor recreational facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the State Liaison Office, the National Park Service; and

4. That this Resolution will become part of the formal application to the Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska this 12th day of June, 2000.
