CITY OF HOMER Finance

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA ACCEPTING THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,300,000 FOR THE PILINGS FOR THE PIONEER DOCK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, the purpose of the financial assistance award in the amount of $1,300,000 is for pilings for the Kachemak Multi Purposes Ocean Dock that was renamed the Pioneer Dock; and

WHEREAS, the total project cost is estimated at $3,164,664 and the City's share is $1,864,664; and

WHEREAS, this funding is an essential part of the overall dock project; and

WHEREAS, an appropriating and budgeting amending Ordinance regarding this funding will be presented for introduction at the next Council meeting.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby accepts the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration financial assistance award in the amount of $1,300,000 and hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.
