A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION (ADEC) IN THEIR EFFORTS TO GAIN FUNDING FOR PROJECTS IN THE HOMER AREA.
WHEREAS, efficient and reliable water and sewer utility systems is one of the most important responsibilities of state government; and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is responsible for long range statewide planning of such projects; and
WHEREAS, projects are eligible for federal funding leverage limited state dollars and should therefore be considered as priority projects;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the Council supports the following ADEC capital improvement priorities:
1. Water Reservoir $ 1,500,000
2. Bridge Creek Watershed Land Acquisition 2,000,000
3. Mountain View to East Hill Water Main 350,000
4. Utilities-Water and Sewer Improvements 5,300,000
5. Telemetry and Control Equipment-Phase II 95,000
6. Satellite Sewer Dump Stations (2) 60,000
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation of the projects supported by the City of Homer for the 2001-2006 Capital Improvement Program.
PASSED AND APPROVED by a duly constituted quorum of the City Council for the City of Homer on this 25th day of September 2000.
