RESOLUTION 00-94(A)

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING CAPITAL PROJECTS/LEGISLATIVE REQUEST FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002 AND REQUESTING APPROPRIATE FUNDING.

WHEREAS, a duly published hearing was held on September 11, 2000 in order to obtain public comments on recommended Fiscal Year 2002 capital improvement projects and legislative priorities; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council to provide the Governor and Legislative delegation from District 7 adequate information to represent the desires of the City concerning legislative requests including necessary funding requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the following Capital Improvement Projects are identified as the City of Homer priority list for Legislative Request in Fiscal Year 2002:

1. Water Reservoir $1,500,000

2. Homer Public Library 850,000

3. Homer Animal Shelter 400,000

4. Mountain View/East Hill Water Main 350,000

5. Freight Dock Road Reconst/Paving 545,000

6. Downtown Restrooms 180,000

7. Kachemak Drive Separated Pathway Support

8. DWD Berth #1 Fendering System Upgrade Phase II 375,000

9. Utilities-Water/Sewer Improvements 5,300,000

10. Harbor Pedestrian Ways 650,000

11. South Peninsula Multi-Agency Firearms Training Facility 750,000

12. Satellite Sewer Dump Stations (2) 60,000

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise the Governor, Legislature, and appropriate State agencies of the FY2002 Capital Projects/Legislative Request adopted by the Homer City Council and to take all appropriate steps to provide the necessary background information.

PASSED AND APPROVED by a duly constituted quorum of the City Council for the City of Homer on this 25th day of September 2000.
