RESOLUTION 00-96



A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOMER, ALASKA CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000 AND PLACING AN ADVISORY VOTE ON THE BALLOT.



WHEREAS, the City of Homer has petitioned the local Boundary Commission to annex an estimated 25.58 square miles; and



WHEREAS, the City Council and the City of Homer has received much testimony concerning this annexation; and



WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Homer desires to determine the level of support for the proposed annexation by the residents of the current City.



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that a Special Election is called for on November 7, 2000 and that an advisory vote is to be placed on the ballot as follows:



1. Do you favor the current annexation plan to annex 25.58 square miles? Yes or No



2. If no to question #1 would you favor the annexation of a smaller area? Yes or No



PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 25th day of September, 2000.
