RESOLUTION 01-10

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOMER, ALASKA, REQUESTING FY02 SAFE COMMUNITIES FUNDING FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND AGREEING TO USE THIS FUNDING PURSUANT TO

A.S. 29.60.350(c)

WHEREAS, AS 29.60.035(b) requires the governing body of a municipality to adopt a resolution requesting safe communities funding and to submit the resolution to the Department of Community and Economic Development; and

WHEREAS, the City of Homer, is desirous of receiving safe communities funding; and

WHEREAS, AS 29.60.350(c) requires that money received by a municipality under the safe communities program be used only for the following services in the following ranking of priority:

• Police protection and related public safety services;
• Fire protection and emergency medical services;
• Water and sewer services not offset by user fees;
• Solid waste management;
• Other services determined by the governing body to have the highest priority.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council hereby requests FY02 safe communities funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development and agrees to use this funding pursuant to A.S. 29.60.350(c).
