A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE BID FOR THE REPAIR AND RENOVATIONS TO THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR TO THE FIRM OF HARRIS SAND AND GRAVEL OF VALDEZ, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,660,274.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer News on March 22 and 29, 01 and in the Anchorage Daily News on March 25 and April 1, 2001, sent to four plans rooms and was posted on the City's Home Page; and
WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due in the Office of the City Clerk by 2:00 p.m. on April 27, 2001; and
WHEREAS, six sealed bids were received with Harris Sand and Gravel of Valdez, Alaska submitting the lowest responsible and responsive bid in the amount of $2,841,274.00 for the base bid; and
WHEREAS, there were five additive alternates, with #1 in the amount of $210,000, #2 in the amount of $306,000 and #5 in the amount of $303,000 being recommended for award; and
WHEREAS, this award is not final until written notification is received by Harris Sand and Gravel of Valdez, Alaska from the City of Homer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska awards the bid for the Repair and Renovations to the Small Boat Harbor to the firm of Harris Sand and Gravel of Valdez, Alaska in the amount of $3,660,274.00 and authorizing the City Manager to Execute the appropriate documents.
