RESOLUTION 01-31

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE 2000 EXTERNAL PARITY STUDY.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer Personnel Regulations state than an external parity study will be performed no less than every five years and shall compare salary rates, compensation policies of the City’s positions and those of like positions in employers in the community and other municipal governments; and

WHEREAS, the 2000 Salary and Benefit Survey was completed in March 2001 and the following recommendations are made:

1. Increase out-of pocket expense (co-insurance) amount on health insurance plan to $500 single, $1,500 family effective 6-1-01.

2. Increase insurance premium rate by 13% effective 5-1-01.

3. Revise the City insurance plan to cover employees on the first of the month following one full month of employment effective 6-1-01.

4. Terminate short-term disability coverage effective 7-1-01.

5. Approve bereavement leave for employees effective immediately. Five days for death of employee’s immediate family members. (Spouse, Father, Mother, Children, Brothers, Sisters)

6. Increase on-call pay from $1.50 to $2.00 per hour effective 6-4-01.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Homer by this resolution, hereby approves the recommendations of the 2000 External Parity Study.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council for the City of Homer on this 14th day of May 2001.
