RESOLUTION 01-39

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT AND REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF FUNDS FOR THE SOUTH PENINSULA WOMEN'S SERVICES, INC. SHELTER PROJECT, EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer and Homer City Council have continuously supported the South Peninsula Women's Services' efforts and applications for an Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence; and

WHEREAS, one of the parts of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI); and

WHEREAS, the Homer Public Works Director and the Director of the South Peninsula Women's Services have answered the questions applicable to the FONSI and no significant impacts have been found; and

WHEREAS, there has to be a request to the Department of Economic and Community Development (DCED) for release of the Federal Funds under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the Mayor is authorized to sign the Finding of No Significant Impact and Request for Release of Funds for the South Peninsula Women's Services, Inc. Shelter Project, Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 11th day of June, 2001.
