RESOLUTION 01-58

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AMENDING THE CITY MANAGER'S CONTRACT.

WHEREAS, the City Council conducted an annual review of the City Manager's Performance on July 23, 2001, a regular City Council meeting; and

WHEREAS, the City Council met in Executive Session on July 23, 2001, afterward Councilmember Marquardt stated that the Council did meet in Executive Session for the annual review of the City Manager and discussed performance and accomplishments and that the business of the City government is being accomplished and in a competent manner; and

WHEREAS, some people do receive a cost of living allowance (COLA) and the City Manager's contract does not contain a COLA; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to bring the City Manager's compensation package to a level that is competitive to other Municipalities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the City Manager's contract is hereby amended as follows:

1. To increase the car allowance to $200.00 per month; and

2. To increase the annual salary by 7.5% or $5,850 per year; and

3. The compensation increase, noted in number 1. and 2., is to be retroactive to the City Manager's June 7, 2001 as noted in Amendment One of the City Manager's contract; and

4. It is recommended by this City Council that, in the future, the City Manager's annual performance evaluation be accomplished prior to the annual budget session, to facilitate any changes, including but not limited to compensation adjustments, in the City Manager's Contract for the new budget year, beginning in January, regardless of the date of hire.
