RESOLUTION 02-08

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKAAPPROVING THE SELECTION OF CONSULTANTS, WILLIAM NELSON AND ASSOCIATES OF KENAI, ALASKA AND LARSON CONSULTING GROUP OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO NEGOTIATE FEES REGARDING THE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR VARIOUS WATER AND SEWER LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS (LIDS).

WHEREAS, The Request for Statement of Qualifications for Professional Engineering Design Services for various water and sewer LIDS was advertised in the Homer Tribune on January 2, 2002, Homer News on January 3 and 10, 2002, Peninsula Clarion on January 6 and 10, 2002, Anchorage Daily News on January 3 and10, 2002, sent to plans rooms and posted on City's Home Page; and

WHEREAS, Sealed statements were due in the Office of the City Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on January 17, 2002; and

WHEREAS, 11 sealed statements were received and the review committee recommends that the professional engineering design service fees be negotiated for four LIDs (Harrington Heights Water and Sewer, Mariner Village/Thorn Subdivision Water and Sewer, Forest Glen Water and Sewer and West Lakeshore Drive Water and Sewer) with the firm of William Nelson and Associates of Kenai, Alaska and for one LID (Hillside Acres Water) with the firm of Larson Consulting Group of Anchorage Alaska.; and

WHEREAS, Upon completion of successful fee negotiations, the Council will be asked to award the contract(s).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska approves the Selection of Consultants, William Nelson and Associates of Kenai, Alaska and Larson Consulting Group of Anchorage, Alaska and Authorizes the Administration to Negotiate the fees regarding the Professional Engineering Design Services for Various Water and Sewer LIDS.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 28th day of January, 2002.
