RESOLUTION 02-52(S)

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A REIMBURSABLE SERVICE AGREEMENT/UTILITY AGREEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,627,728.00 WITH THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES (DOT/PF) FOR THE RELOCATION, REPLACEMENT AND/OR INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN UTILITY FACILITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROJECT NO. STP - 0414 (9) / 51609, EAST ROAD REHABILITATION.

 

WHEREAS, The City of Homer has certain approved water and or sewer assessment districts that front East Road; and

 

WHEREAS, The recent annexation of an additional 4.58 square miles to the City of Homer calls for the extension and/or installation of certain water and sewer lines along the East Road corridor; and

 

WHEREAS, The DOT/PF East Road Rehabilitation project provides an opportunity to relocate, replace and/or install these water and sewer lines and minimizes the impact on neighboring/adjacent property owners, subdivisions and traffic; and

 

            WHEREAS, Combining the utility relocation, replacement and/or installation, the construction of the utility assessment districts with the East Road projects benefits all those concerned.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a Reimbursable Service Agreement/Utility Agreement in the amount of $1,627,728.00 with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT/PF) for the relocation, replacement and/or installation of certain utility facilities in connection with the construction project No. STP - 0414 (9) / 51609, East Road Rehabilitation.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 26th day of August, 2002.
