RESOLUTION 03-05

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THIRTY FIVE SCBA (AIRPACK) REPLACEMENT UNITS, AND ASSOCIATED SOFTWARE AND TRAINING, AND THE SERVICE BENCH AND TESTING EQUIPMENT FROM EAGLE ENTERPRISES, INC. OF HOMER, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, After review and assessment the Homer Fire Department recommends the purchase of the SCBA Replacement units, associated software and training, and the service bench and testing equipment from Eagle Enterprises, Inc. of Homer, Alaska.

WHEREAS, Eagle Enterprises, Inc. is the sole source for SCBA locally and the benefits of having a local vendor and service center greatly reduces the cost to the Homer Fire Department for spare parts inventory and service outside their own expertise;

WHEREAS, The $150,000.00 is a budgeted grant received from the State of Alaska and will be expended from Account 151.736

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Homer City Council that the purchase of thirty five SCBA (airpack) Replacement units, associated software and training, the service bench and testing equipment are hereby authorized in the amount of $150,000.000 from Eagle Enterprises of Homer, Alaska and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 13th day of January, 2003.
