RESOLUTION 03-135

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDING COUNCIL'S OPERATING MANUAL REGARDING WORK HOURS.

WHEREAS, Administrative Staff, Department Heads and Public Works personnel have frequently noted (complained) that there are insufficient hours in a day to accomplish the tasks set before them; and

WHEREAS, Council desires to be supportive of the City Administration, Department Heads and all employees; and

WHEREAS, This amendment is essential to demonstrate Council's support and to accommodate those employees who have noted the severe lack of hours in a day (you know who you are); and

WHEREAS, Council has received sufficient input, from City staff, in support of this amendment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby amends Council's Operating Manual to establish sixty hours in a day; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all employees may take off up to thirty hours in the sixty hour day after working the first thirty hours.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 13th day of October, 2003, with an effective date of never.
