RESOLUTION 03-73

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER,

ALASKA, TO APPROVE SITES FOR THE

HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY.

WHEREAS, the Homer Advisory Library Board has recommended sites for a new public library as follows:

1. City-owned land on the north side of Hazel Avenue between Poopdeck Street and Heath Street;

2. 4.6 acres at the northwest corner of Town Square presently owned by the University of Alaska, presently being considered for purchase by the City; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Homer has carefully considered this matter, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council of the City of Homer hereby approves sites for the proposed new Homer City Library as follows:

1. The 4.6 acres at the northwest corner of Town Square presently owned by the University of Alaska and being considered for purchase by the City of Homer;

2. In the event that the above site can not be acquired by July 31, 2003, the four city-owned lots on the north side of Hazel Street east from Poopdeck Street are approved as the library site.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the Homer City Council this 12^th day of May, 2003.
