RESOLUTION 04-19

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF GCI BROADCASTING ANIMALS AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER DURING COUNCIL MEETING RECESSES.

WHEREAS, The Homer City Council as approved an action plan for the construction of the new Homer Animal Shelter, and

WHEREAS, The humane treatment of animals and the adoption of animals at the Animal Shelter is a priority, and

WHEREAS, There is blank air time available on cable TV during City Council meeting breaks, and

WHEREAS, GCI has agreed to air video tape of animals in residence at the shelter during City Council meeting breaks

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council affirms their support of a plan to air tape broadcasts of animals available for adoption on cable TV during breaks in the City Council meetings, and commends GCI for their support in promoting the adoption of animals at the Homer Animal Shelter.

PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOMER, ALASKA, this 23rd day of February, 2004.
