RESOLUTION 04-20

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AMENDING COUNCIL'S OPERATING MANUAL, SECTION 1. INTRODUCTION, OFFICE OF THE MAYOR, ITEM 1. REGARDING SEATING AT THE COUNCIL TABLE.

WHEREAS, It is recognized that changing seating can change individual and group dynamics; and

WHEREAS, The movement of individuals within a group can enhance communications, and therefore their ability to work together as a group; and

WHEREAS, Random seating on a 6 month rotation would instill a fresh shot of energy through a change in the group dynamics.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council hereby amends the Council's Operating Manual as follows:

The Mayor wishes to welcome you to the City Council and provides the following notes on Council Operations:

1. Council Seat - Customarily the selection is be seniority. Senior members may choose a different seat prior to the junior members being seated. The Homer City Council hereby agrees that there will be a random seating of City Council members, excluding the Mayor, on a 6 month rotation with seating decided by drawing numbers out of a hat at the first meeting in November and the first meeting in May.
