A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
HOMER,
WHEREAS, House
Bill 431 is proposed to provide State funds to
WHEREAS,
State revenue sharing funds have been eliminated, which, along with increases in
insurance and retirement costs, has greatly impacted local government in
Alaska, leading some municipalities to consider dropping services to the
public, and
WHEREAS, the proposed Municipal Dividend Program would be funded
from Permanent Fund earnings only after provision for dividends and inflation
proofing.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council endorses the concept of
the Municipal Dividend Program as proposed in House Bill 431.
