A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE 2004 BID FOR CITY OWNED DREDGE SPOILS TO PHUKAN INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $6.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR TWO THOUSAND CUBIC YARDS, TO CASTAWAY PARK, YOUNGS OF HOMER, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $6.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR TWO HUNDRED FIFTY CUBIC YARDS, AND THE ENGLISH BAY CORPORATION OF HOMER, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $5.01 PER CUBIC YARD FOR ALL REMAINING AVAILABLE MATERIALS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer News on March 4 and 11, 2004 and posted on the City Clerk's Project Website, http://clerk.ci.homer.ak.us/projects.htm; and

WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due by 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2004 and four sealed bids were received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, Phukan Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska and Castaway Park, Youngs of Homer, Alaskasubmitted the highest responsive and responsible bids in the amount of $6.00 per cubic yard; and

WHEREAS, Phukan Inc. bid for two thousand cubic yards, Castaway Park, Youngs bid for two hundred and fifty cubic yards; and

WHEREAS, English Bay Corporation submitted a bid in the amount of $5.01 for nine thousand cubic yards and will be offered all remaining available materials at the $5.01 bid price; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Phukan Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska; Castaway Park, Youngs of Homer, Alaska and the English Bay Corporation of Homer, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the 2004 bid for City owned dredge spoils to Phukan Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska in the amount of $6.00 per cubic yard for two thousand cubic yards, to Castaway Park, Youngs of Homer, Alaska in the amount of $6.00 per cubic yard for two hundred fifty cubic yards and the English Bay Corporation of Homer, Alaska in the amount of $5.01 per cubic yard for all remaining available materials and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 22nd day of March, 2004.
