RESOLUTION 04-33

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE EAST END ROAD WATER AND SEWER CONSTRUCTION AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO WILLIAM NELSON AND ASSOCIATES OF KENAI, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 64,540.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, William J. Nelson and Associates have provided much of the utility design work for the Alaska Department of Transportation's (DOT) East End Road Reconstruction Project; and

WHEREAS, Public Works has determined that it is prudent to utilize William J. Nelson and Associates to provide the project inspection for the City of Homer water and sewer construction and replacement work within the DOT East End Road Reconstruction Project; and

WHEREAS, The total estimated cost proposal is $64,540.00, the majority of which will be paid by DOT; and

WHEREAS, The portion of the inspection work that applies to an improvement/assessment district will be paid as part of that specific district; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by William Nelson and Associates from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the Contract for the Professional Inspection Services for the East End Road Water and Sewer Construction and Replacement Project to the firm of William Nelson and Associates of Kenai, Alaska in the amount of $64,540.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 12th day of April, 2004.
