RESOLUTION 04-56(S)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CORRECTION OF THE DRAINAGE PROBLEM
AT KAREN HORNADAY HILLSIDE PARK, NORTHSIDE OF THE BALLFIELDS.
WHEREAS, Karen Hornaday Hillside Park is extensively utilized by the community at large; and
WHEREAS, There is a significant drainage problem that exists on the north side of the ball fields; and
WHEREAS, There are several T-Ball and Little League teams using the fields; and
WHEREAS, The children involved in the T-Ball and Little League programs are constantly running back and forth
through the problem drainage area; and
WHEREAS, There are visiting Little League Teams throughout the season; and
WHEREAS, The stagnant water and slick mud creates a health hazard and situation for possible injury; and
WHEREAS, James Hornaday has donated $300.00 to assist with correcting this effort; and
WHEREAS, Over the years various individuals and groups have brought this problem to the Council for consideration
and resolution; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Homer, residents of the City and the greater community and visitors to
correct this drainage problem as soon as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the correction of the drainage
problem at Karen Hornaday Hillside Park on the north side of the ball fields.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 14th day of June, 2004.
