RESOLUTION 04-59(S)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE HOMER ANIMAL SHELTER PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF BLAZY CONSTRUCTION OF SOLDOTNA, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $904,918.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer News on June 3 and 10, and in the Peninsula Clarion and Anchorage Daily News on June 6, 2004, sent to four plans rooms, and posted on the City Clerk's Project Website; and

WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due by 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004 and two sealed bids were received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, The firm of Blazy Construction of Soldotna, Alaska submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid and Public Works recommends awarding the contract to Blazy Construction for the Homer Animal Shelter Project in the amount of $904,918.00, which includes deductions of 2, 5, 6 and 7.; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Blazy Construction of Soldotna, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the contract for the Homer Animal Shelter Project to the firm of Blazy Construction of Soldotna, Alaska in the amount of $904,918.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents; and

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 28th day of June, 2004.
