RESOLUTION 04-87
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION 03-74(A)
TO APPROVE A LEASE , RATHER THAN A DEED, WITH THE KENAI PENINSULA HOUSING
INITIATIVE (KPHI) PROGRAM FOR A COMPLEX OF EIGHT SUPPORTED HOUSING UNITS FOR LOW
INCOME DEVELOPMENTALLY CHALLENGED CLIENTS.
WHEREAS, Council adopted Resolution 04-74(A) on June 23, 2003, deeming a transaction with the KPHI
Program advantageous to the City of Homer for the promotion of a healthy community; and
WHEREAS, Administration finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Homer and the KPHI for the City to
retain ownership of TO6S R13W S16 HM0003017 Mattox Subdivision Lot 19, Kenai Peninsula Borough parcel no.
179-061-0200 and to lease said property to KPHI; and
WHEREAS, Administration recommends a twenty year lease, with one - five year extension at $1.00 per
year; and
WHEREAS, KPHI will pay the City PILA (payment in lieu of taxes).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Homer City Council that Resolution 03-74(A) is hereby
superseded by Resolution 04-87, approving a lease, rather than a deed, with the KPHI Program for a complex of
eight supported housing units for low income developmentally challenged clients on Lot 19 of the Mattox
Subdivision, Kenai Peninsula Borough parcel no. 179-061-0200.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Homer City Council this 11th day of October, 2004.
