RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY
COUNCIL SUPPORTING ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION (ADEC) IN
THEIR EFFORTS TO GAIN FUNDING FOR PROJECTS IN THE HOMER AREA.
WHEREAS, A duly published hearing
was held on September 26, 2005 in order to obtain comments on the Alaska
Department of Environmental Conservation
projects of the City of Homer 2006 - 2011 Capital Improvement Plan and
Legislative priorities; and
WHEREAS, Efficient and reliable
water and sewer utility systems is one of the most important responsibilities
of state government; and
WHEREAS, The Alaska Department of
Environmental Conservation is responsible for long range statewide planning of
such projects; and
WHEREAS, Projects are eligible for
federal funding leverage limited state dollars and should therefore be
considered as priority projects;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by
the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the Council supports the following ADEC
capital improvement priorities:
1. Water Treatment Plant - Alternative Water
Source Feasibility Study
2. Spit Water Line Replacement, Phase 4
3. Bridge Creek Watershed Property Acquisition
4. East Hill/West Hill
Transmission Line
5.
Mountain View to East Hill Water Main
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation of the projects supported by the City of Homer for the 2006-2011 Capital Improvement Plan.

constituted quorum of the City Council for the City of Homer on this 10th day
of October 2005.
