CITY OF HOMER

HOMER, ALASKA

 

RESOLUTION 05-13

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PHASE I PARKING IMPROVEMENTS ON THE HOMER SPIT.

 

            WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to study, develop and implement a plan to address parking concerns on the Homer Spit; and

 

            WHEREAS, such plan was submitted for review by the Planning Department, Homer Police Department, Public Works Department, Homer Volunteer Fire Department and City Manager; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Plan was discussed and endorsed with some changes  recommended by the Port and Harbor Advisory Commission at its November 17, 2004 regular meeting; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Plan was publicized and discussed at Public Hearing on November 22, 2004, Regular Meeting of the City Council.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska directs the City Manager to implement Phase I of the Spit Parking Plan as outlined in memorandum of October 6, 2004 entitled Spit Parking Implementation Plan with the following clarifications:

           

                      Parking Fees to be collected at Ramp 1, Ramp 2, Ramp 3 and Ramp 4                                     from Saturday, May 28 through Monday, September 5, 2005.

                      Two (2) to four (4) spaces at each Ramp be reserved as a no fee loading                                  zone.

                      Parking fee be established at the rate of $5 per calendar day, with a time                                   limit of 1 day maximum stay.

 

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 24th day of January, 2005.
