RESOLUTION 05-30(S)

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL THAT MAY 14, 2005 BE HOMER COMMUNITY PARK DAY.

 

           

            WHEREAS, It is a goal of the City of Homer to enhance the beauty of the community; and

 

            WHEREAS, Parks fulfill the health and well being of its citizenry; and

 

            WHEREAS, Arbor Day is a nationally recognized event; and

 

WHEREAS, The City of Homer has adopted Resolution 98-70 on August 24, 1998   to promote a Community Forest Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Committee requests that funds in the amount of $500 from the Park s and Recreation Reserves be allocated for  expenses associated with this event; and

 

            WHEREAS, Community Park Day would increase awareness of Homer’s commitment to parks.

 

            NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Homer Alaska authorizing May 14, 2005 as Homer Community Park Day and that the Parks and Recreation Commission is hereby authorized to proceed with organization of this event.
