RESOLUTION 05- 59

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL APPROVING ANNEXATION OF CITY-OWNED LAND IN THE BRIDGE CREEK RESERVOIR AREA AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS.

WHEREAS, During the Council's review of City-owned land at its Committee of the Whole

on 14 May 2005 it was suggested that land contiguous to the City limits northeast of Bridge

Creek Reservoir that was recently purchased by the City to protect the City's water source

be annexed, and

WHEREAS, The appropriate method to accomplish such an annexation is to adopt a

resolution approving such annexation and directing the City Manager to initiate appropriate

proceedings, and

WHEREAS, KPB parcels 17305120 and 17305235, legally described, respectively, as the

N7/8 E1/2 SW1/4 Section 5 T6S R13W SM, and the W1/2 SE1/4 (excepting therefrom the

SW1/4 SW1/4 of said SE1/4) Section 5 T6S R13W SM are owned by the City, are uninhabited, and are contiguous to City limits, and

WHEREAS, It is in the public interest and general welfare that said parcels be a part of the

corporate boundary of the City.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council hereby approves annexation of the aforesaid parcels and directs the City Manager to initiate proceedings to finalize said annexation.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the Homer City Council this 9th day of May 2005.
