RESOLUTION 05-60
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING IMMEDIATE INPUT FROM THE HOMER
ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSION ON TRAFFIC CONTROL METHODS AT THE LAKE STREET
AND STERLING HIGHWAY INTERSECTION.
WHEREAS, Resolution 05-54(S)(A) was adopted at the April 25, 2005 Regular City Council meeting assenting
to ADOT&PF's installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Lake Street and Sterling Highway with
associated crosswalk striping; and
WHEREAS, Public comments have indicated that a desire exists in the community to assess alternative methods
of traffic control at the Lake Street and Sterling Highway Intersection; and
WHEREAS, The State and City Transportation Plans that should contain recommendations for this intersection
have not been completed; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to the placement of this Resolution on Council's Agenda the City Clerk did notify the
Planning Department on Friday, April 29, 2005, with confirmation, regarding the immediacy and requested that
they place this on their May 18, 2005 Regular Meeting Agenda..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby requests immediate input from the
Homer Advisory Planning Commission on Traffic Control methods at the Lake Street and Sterling Highway
intersection.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 9th day of May, 2005.
