RESOLUTION 05-83





A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ACKNOWLEDGING THE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A POTENTIAL NEW CONFERENCE CENTER.

WHEREAS, Council adopted Resolution 04-60 on June 28, 2004, recognizing the need for a Conference Center Feasibility Study; and

WHEREAS, Council awarded the Professional Consulting Services Contract for a Conference Center Feasibility Study to the Firm of Convention Sport and Leisure International (CSL International) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in an Amount not to Exceed $45,000.00 via Resolution 05-01 on January 10, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Council established the Homer Conference Center Feasibility Study Steering Committee and confirmed Mayoral Appointments via Resolution 05-11, on January 24, 2005 for the purpose of assisting CSL International, providing information on needs and resources of the community and to ensure public involvement in the Feasibility Study.

WHEREAS, Consultant Bill Krueger of CSL International presented the study to the City Council, staff and public during the Committee of the Whole and the Regular Meeting on June 27, 2005; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby acknowledges the Feasibility Study for a Potential New Conference Center.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Homer, Alaska this 25th day of July, 2005.
