RESOLUTION 05-97

 

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF HOMER AND THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH REGARDING THE TRANSFER AND USE OF A DECONTAMINATION CARGO TRAILER.

 

WHEREAS, the City is constantly striving to enhance its capability to respond to public health and safety emergencies, and

 

WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Office of Emergency Management, recently received a grant from the State Department of Homeland Security to purchase and equip cargo trailers that contain shelters and decontamination equipment for its communities, and

 

WHEREAS, the Borough has offered one of these units to Homer under the terms and conditions outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein, and

 

WHEREAS, the City administration has reviewed the referenced MOU, has examined the cargo trailer and equipment, and recommends Council approval.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council hereby finds that obtaining this equipment is in the best interest of the community, approves the attached Memorandum of Understanding, and authorizes the Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

 

PASSED AND APPROVED by the Homer City Council this 26th day of September, 2005.
