RESOLUTION 05-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING THE
ADMINISTRATION TO WORK WITH THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES (ADOT/PF) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A SEPARATED PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE PATHWAY ALONG KACHEMAK DRIVE
WHEREAS, A separated pathway adjacent to Kachemak Drive has been included in the Capital
Improvement Project Priority List for several years; and
WHEREAS, There are four water and/or sewer improvement districts for Kachemak Drive, three
of which have been approved for construction and one that is in the property owner process; and
WHEREAS, Kachemak Drive is a narrow roadway winding around Residential and General
Commercial areas; and
WHEREAS, A separated Pedestrian and Bike Pathway satisfies a significant safety concern on
Kachemak Drive with its blind curves; and
WHEREAS, Separated Pedestrian and Bike Pathways exist on the southwest and north east
intersections of Kachemak Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby requests the
Administration to work with the ADOT/PF for the construction of a Separated Pedestrian and
Bike Pathway along Kachemak Drive.
