RESOLUTION 06-12

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE PROFESSIONAL PLANNING AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT TO THE FIRM OF HDR OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $480,000.00 AND TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals was advertised in the Homer Tribune on November 16 and 23, 2005, in the Peninsula Clarion on November 20, 2005, in the Anchorage Daily News on November 20, 2005, posted on Clerk's home page, and sent to plans rooms; and

WHEREAS, Sealed proposals were due by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, and five sealed proposals were received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, The selection team recommends award to HDR of Anchorage, Alaska, as the most qualified firm for this project; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by HDR of Anchorage, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the Professional Planning and Engineering Services for the Design of Improvements for the Water Treatment Plant to the firm of HDR of Anchorage, Alaska, and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate a contract in an amount not to exceed $480,000.00 and to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 23rd day of January, 2006.
