RESOLUTION 06-140

 

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE SOUTHERN REGION EMS COUNCIL FOR CODE BLUE FUNDING TO ACQUIRE EMS EQUIPMENT AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT A LOCAL CASH MATCH OF 20% ( ESTIMATED TO BE $2,340.00) IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THE GRANT TO BE APPROVED.

 

            WHEREAS, The Homer City Council wishes to provide the best emergency services to the community that it can; and

 

            WHEREAS, Chief Painter has recommended that the City apply for Code Blue funding so that the Homer Volunteer Fire Department can purchase some vital EMS equipment; and

 

            WHEREAS, Southern Regional EMS Council requires that all funding applications be accompanied by a letter or resolution from the applicant verifying that the required 20% match is approved and will be funded if the grant is awarded.

 

            NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Homer City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for Code Blue Funding from the Southern Regional EMS Council, and

 

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Council acknowledges that a 20% local match (estimated to be $2,340) will be required if the grant is awarded and expresses its intent to provide such match.

 

            PASSED AND APPROVED by the Homer City Council this 9th day of October, 2006.
