RESOLUTION 06-151(A)

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PRIORITY LIST FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008 AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR 2007-2012 AND REQUESTING APPROPRIATE FUNDING.

WHEREAS, A duly published hearing was held on September 25, 2006 in order to obtain public comments on recommended Fiscal Year 2008 capital improvement projects and legislative priorities; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of the City Council to provide the Governor and Legislative delegation from District 7 adequate information to represent the desires of the City concerning legislative requests including necessary funding requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Homer, Alaska that the following Capital Improvement Projects are identified as priorities for the FY 2008 State Legislative Request:

1. Water Supply (Water Treatment Plant; Water Source & Water Shed Land Acquisitions)

2. Deep Water Dock Expansion, Phase I

3. Town Center (Land Acquisition for Roads, City Hall/Town Square Infrastructure)

4. College Expansion

5. Senior Access Trail

6. Intersection Improvements

7. Main Street Reconstruction

8. Harbor Maintenance (Erosion Control & Fenders)

9. Paving Freight Dock Road

10. Spit Trail Completion/Harbor Pathways

11. Restrooms (Spit Trail, Pioneer Avenue, Spit)

12. Pratt Museum Fuel Tank Replacement

13. East Boat Harbor

14. Fairview Avenue: Main to East Hill

15. Winter Sports Improvements: Homer Hockey Association with Ohlson Mountain Ski Area Improvements

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise our Congressional Delegation, Governor, Legislature, and appropriate State agencies of the FY2008 Capital Projects Priority List adopted by Council and to take all appropriate steps to provide the necessary background information.
