RESOLUTION 06-152

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF THE HOMER SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT AND URGING THE ALASKA HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION TO GRANT AND LOAN THE HOMER SENIOR CITIZENS THE FUNDS FOR THIS PROJECT.

WHEREAS, A duly published hearing was held on September 25, 2006 in order to obtain public comments on recommended Fiscal Year 2008 capital improvement projects and legislative priorities and the Senior Housing project was part of that public hearing; and

WHEREAS, The City of Homer, Homer Mayor and City Council, and Community Citizens have been and are very supportive of the Homer Senior Citizens' Center and its associated projects; and

WHEREAS, The Senior House Project has a cost estimate of $2,35 million or $200.00 per square foot; and

WHEREAS, The Senior Housing Project is a part of the City of Homer's 2007-2012 Capital Improvement Program/Plan and Priorities Document.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Homer City Council hereby supports the Homer Senior Housing Project and urges the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation grant and loan the Homer Senior Citizens the Funds for this project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the City Manager is hereby instructed to advise our Congressional Delegation, Governor, Legislature, and appropriate State agencies of the Council support and necessary background information.

PASSED AND APPROVED by a duly constituted quorum of the City Council for the City of Homer on this 23rd day of October 2006.
