RESOLUTION 06-156

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT THAT IS OBSOLETE AND UNNEEDED THROUGH THE SURPLUS EQUIPMENT SEALED BID PROCESS.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Homer City Code 18.30.020, no supplies, materials, equipment or other personal property of a value of more than five thousand dollars may be sold or otherwise disposed of until the City Council has declared, by motion or Resolution, such property surplus, obsolete, or unneeded, or that the transaction is otherwise in the best interest of the City; and

WHEREAS, The Public Works has set the value on the following equipment:

1981 Case 880 Excavator valued at $18,000 to $20,000.

1976 Michigan 45B Rubber Tire Front End Loader valued at $7,500 to $10,000.

1976 m/l Case 580 B Rubber Tire Backhoe valued at $5,500 to $8,000; and

WHEREAS, The above equipment has been replaced by newer and higher quality equipment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby authorizes the City Manager to dispose of the above listed surplus equipment, that is obsolete and unneeded, as listed in the second whereas clause.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 27th day of November, 2006.
