RESOLUTION 06-61

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ASSIGNING THE ECONOMIC SECTIONS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO THE ECONOMIC ADVISORY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION FOR REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to HCC 1.78.040 advisory input on economics is the duty and responsibility of the Economic Development Advisory Commission; and

WHEREAS, During their meeting of May 9, 2006 the Commission inquired about and expressed their desire to be assignment the economic sections of the Comprehensive Plan Update; and

WHEREAS, The Council appropriated $100,000.00 in the 2006 Budget for a Comprehensive Plan rewrite; and

WHEREAS, The Scope of work and input of the Commission had not been defined or discussed by the Commission; and

WHEREAS, The final report from the Comprehensive Plan Committee is pending.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Homer City Council hereby assigns the Economic Sections of the Comprehensive Plan to the Economic Development Advisory Commission for Review and Recommendation; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Commission will provide the Council with a scope and timeline for this project by August 14, 2006; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council, that a portion of the funds budgeted for the Comprehensive Plan Update may be allocated to the Commission if required to adequately complete the updating of this section of the plan.
