RESOLUTION 06-90(S)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE 2006 STREET REPAVING PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF QUALITY ASPHALT PAVING (QAP) OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA IN THE AMOUNT OF $492,400.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer Tribune on July 5 and 12, 2006, Anchorage Daily News on July 9, 2006, Peninsula Clarion on July 9, 2006, sent to plans rooms and posted on the City Clerk's Project Internet Web Site; and

WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 and one sealed bid was received by the City Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS, QAP of Anchorage, Alaska submitted the only bid in the amount of $492,400.00, that bid is deemed to be responsive and responsible and was below the engineer's estimate of $552,883.00; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by QAP of Anchorage, Alaska from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the Contract for the 2006 Repaving Project to the firm of QAP of Anchorage, Alaska in the amount of $492,400.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 24th day of July, 2006.
