RESOLUTION 07-58

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MEMBRANE WATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT TO THE FIRM OF GENERAL ELECTRIC - ZENON., OF OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,912,866.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

            WHEREAS, The Invitation to Bid was mailed from Public Works Department to two equipment suppliers in March, 2007; and 

            WHEREAS, Sealed bids were due by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 and two sealed bid were received by Public Works Department; and 

            WHEREAS, The lowest responsible and responsive Bidder is the firm of General Electric - Zenon, Oakville, Ontario, Canada, submitting a bid in the amount of $1,912,866.00 for the purchase of membrane water treatment equipment; and 

            WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by General Electric - Zenon, Oakville, Ontario, Canada from the City of Homer. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska hereby awards the contract for the purchase of the membrane water treatment equipment to the firm of General Electric - Zenon, Oakville, Ontario, Canada in an amount not to exceed $1,912,866.00 and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 23^rd day of April, 2007.
